Raul de la Torre
The first influence in my art is the place where I was born, Barcelona. Dozens of Galleries and art Museums were part of my education. My early artistic interest was more focused on writing but soon painting became an important part of my life. My works are hardly influenced by some of the contemporary Catalan artist as Tapies, Clave, Tharrats, etc. And the culture and the political situation of my country, Catalonia, are reflected in my works.
I like to use all kind of materials to create my artworks from Acrylic paper to old newspapers or clothing , everything can be important to me. Nothing is dispensable, that old object will find the right place at the right time to come back to life as a new something. |
