June 2009 The experimental vision of both Susan Volpe’ and Zoe Fischer draw on astounding forces which shape our environment and allow us to live on this relatively carefree earth. 
     
      Utilizing a technologically photographic mixed-media, process based, painting method, Susan envisions relative small spaces in our beautiful communities.  As each image draws on a specific mood the viewer is drawn into the complex composition which utilizes patterns found in nature and the architecture built within it. 
      Zoe astounds and goes beyond vision to create atmosphere which is purely painted with her own apparent skill.  By drawing on an appreciation for all the beauty which surrounds us Zoe translates the view for an environmentally fragile world through depiction of color, textures and movement.
     Both artist’s work compliment the other and suggest a statement and view for the benefit that we all share through the privilege of living surrounded by art and nature.  The fragility of what we have come to know is constantly challenged by human forces which disregard the value of this earth.  This exhibit questions the quiet moments in which we live to enjoy this earth and the plausibility of it’s decline.
    Susan and Zoe have come to know one another and their art through the benefit of exhibits sponsored through Assunta Fox Gallery.  Susan Volpe’, artist and gallery curator along with Zoe, long time exhibiting artist have selected the Sandstone Gallery as a venue for this new exhibit.  We would like to thank the artists at the Sandstone for their cooperative participation and the opportunity to share their walls.
